Suns Baseball Clinches Postseason with MAC Series Win Over Mountain View

The CVC Baseball Team punched their ticket to the District C Regional Tournament after taking two games in a three-game Metro Athletic Conference series against the Mountain View Lions. Cedar Valley finishes their season series against Mountain View with a 5-1 record.

After claiming game one, CVC dropped game two against MVC, 6-1. The lone run was scored by Jesus Payan and Alex Garcia had a RBI.

Game three was total domination for the Suns, as they overpowered the Lions, 15-2. J.J. Veloz Jr., Jesus Payan, Alex Rivera, Alex Garcia and Daniel Quintanilla all hit home runs in the victory.

CVC scored in all but one inning, racking up 15 hits in the process. Payan and Rivera each had four RBIs, while three Suns (Payan, Tylor Frailey, Daniel Quintanilla) crossed home plate three times.

Alex Garcia earned his fourth win from the mound tossing five strikeouts.

The Suns will wrap up their regular season this week when they face Richland College in a three-game Metro Athletic Conference set.
