DAC Series Preview: Suns Baseball vs. Mountain View

The CVC Suns Baseball Team will resume Dallas Athletic Conference action this week when they begin a three-game series against the Mountain View Lions. Mountain View will host game one before Cedar Valley finishes the series at home for games two and three.

CVC enters the series riding a four-game win streak that includes victories over DAC opponent, Richland, and Southwest Collegiate Prep. In their doubleheader outing against SWC, the Suns posted a season-high 15 runs in their game one victory. This eclipses their 13 runs showing against LeTourneau University (JV) earlier this year. Jose Castillo and Billy Rogers both lead the team with 20 hits so far this year with Chandler Boyd leading the Suns with 14 runs. Five different Suns have hit home runs this season (Castillo, Rogers, Leo Aguilar, Isaia Diermier, Ryan Ratliff).

Earlier this week, both Castillo (Position) and Rogers (Pitcher) were named NJCAA Players of the Week for their stellar play against Richland.

Mountain View has an overall record of 5-11 (1-2 DAC). MVC's most recent outing was a 10-3 victory over Jarvis Christian (JV).

Cedar Valley won five of the six meetings against the Lions in 2018.
