With the first half of Dallas Athletic Conference play over with, the CVC Suns Baseball Team are looking to climb the standings and cement their post-season berth. Cedar Valley will face Richland this week in their second series meeting with the Thunderducks this year.
The Suns took a hit last weekend falling to the Brookhaven Bears in their recent DAC series winning only game one of the three-game set. With the back-to-back losses, CVC is now in a three-way log jam for second place in the DAC. Jesus Castillo registered a stat line of six hits, five RBIs and three runs against BHC.
Earlier this season when the Suns and Thunderducks met, CVC won the series 2-1 with Jose Castillo and Billy Rogers each earning NJCAA Player of the Week honors.
