Baseball Regroups to Take Final Two Games in Richland Series

After falling in game one, the CVC Baseball Team rallied to take the final two games of their Dallas Athletic Conference series against the Richland Thunderducks. The Suns improved their conference record to 9-9.

In game one, the Suns were edged 11-10 by the Thunderducks after being unable to continue scoring in the final inning. In five at-bats, Billy Rogers finished with four hits and along with Chandler Boyd each finished the day with three runs. Jose Castillo had a game-high five RBIs. 

Cedar Valley evened the series in game two with a 10-8 victory. In the win, Leo Aguilar and Boyd each recorded two runs and hit a home run, with six different Suns crossing home plate. Boyd finished with a game-high four RBIs. Ryan Foley was awarded the win from the mound after 5.2 innings pitched and five strikeouts, while William Bond received the save. 

CVC closed out the series with an offensive explosion scoring 17 runs to Richland's seven in game three. Boyd, Ben Cross, and Jamison Totten each logged three runs, while Jose Castillo and Billy Rogers had a team-high four RBIs. Blake Birdwell earned the win after five innings throwing four strikeouts. Cross, Rogers, and Castillo each hit a home run.

Next up, the Suns will host Mountain View for more DAC action.
