Pre-Game: Dallas Athletic Conference- Cedar Valley College Vs Eastfield College

Pre-Game: Dallas Athletic Conference- Cedar Valley College Vs Eastfield College

Now- closing in on the third week of baseball season, the Suns are all warmed up and ready to go for the start of the Dallas Athletic Conference. This marks the 2nd annual DAC competition for the Dallas County Community College District. During DAC's debut, the Suns faced off agianst the Harvester Bees twice, as they competed in a pair of three series games last year. During which time, some fires were left behind- that have yet to be put out!

The Suns made sure to bring the heat back with them as they returned to the CVC ball field from Spring Break last year.  Completely recharged on their signature solar energy, the Suns greeted their opponents with one LIT match. It was a close game but the Bees swarmed back to Eastfield College unable to meet their match 6-5. They still hadn't recovered when the Suns showed up for a second series game later that weekend. The Bees burned badly, 11-6. After smoking Mesquite, the Suns waned on back to Lancaster, only to return the very next day for a third series game. Though, the Suns were not quite themselves after playing so hard the night before. Nevertheless, the Suns managed to pull through and put on a third suspensful game that week, but finally gave way for the Bees to claim a victory, 6-1. Indeed, the Bees won the fight but not the battle as this series game ultimatley went to the Suns.

However, the Bees would soon get their second chance to battle the Suns one month later. It was late April when the teams crossed paths again for another three series game and those were some angry Bees that showed up to Cedar Valley College that afternoon. They challenged the Suns that day and won 10-0. That was not something the Suns were used to and they certainly were not about to leave things on such a note. The next day, the Bees returned just as mad. This time, the Suns met them with the same wrath as they burned bright throughout the game. Suddenly, the baseball game had become a tug of war, with the Suns pulling to win the game back. The game was close but the Suns tipped the scales back in their favor, 15-12. With just one game left, the Suns knew they had to show up to Eastfield the next day with their best game or risk losing the game series to Eastfield. So, the next day the Suns arrived at Eastfield ready to fight. They were greeted by the Bees, who were just as hungry. Both teams played with passion, resulting in a really good close game; but the Bees took it 6-5, narrowly beating the Suns.

So, the Cedar Valley Suns won a game series against the Eastfield Harvester Bees. Then, the tables turned as the Eastfield Harvester Bees won a game series against the Cedar Valley Suns. Thus, a conference-long tug of war over a baseball game series ended in a complete tie! With as competative as these two teams were throughout last year's conference, the season ended with a major cliffhanger between them. This cliffhanger will finally come to an end with a new conference underway.

Needless to say, the "Suns Vs Bees" is one game series to look forward to.
