Bio

Rodney Gardner was named an assistant men's basketball coach at Dallas College Cedar Valley in August 2023.

In his first season with the Suns, Gardner was part of a staff that went 8-19 with a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament. He coached Antonio Sisk, who was named the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week, and signed with Mississippi Valley State University. 

Gardner coached at Crowley Independent School District in 2020. Prior to that, he spent 2016-19 working with Everman ISD. From 1998-2015, Gardner coached in the Dallas ISD. He began his coaching stint with Amarillo ISD in 1991, and remained in that district through 1998. He also served as an educator during his coaching stops.

Gardner played at Eastern New Mexico University from 1987-90, following two years at Hill College from 1984-86.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education, specializing in kinesiology.
